General Election 2010 & Shooting

By Ian - 05 January 2010 - View Full Newsletter

BASC have launched a new website for the 2010 election.  The BASC site is fantastic, you go along enter your post code, type in a letter about shooting with questions you want to have a response to (or use theirs) and send it off to all the parliamentary candidates in your area.

They will then write to you letting you know what they think, if enough people do this the profile of shooting will go up in the eyes of the elected and you as a voter will be able to hold your MP to account if they say one thing during the run up to an election and something else after as you will have thair reply in writing.

So please show your support for shooting by going to the:  BASC General Election 2010 site, it will only take a moment of your time.

It s nice to see BASC trying to get people to speak with one voice, all we need is for the NRA, NSRA etc etc to wake up and do the same.

The Shooting Matters Team.

Shooting Matters Daily

By Webmaster - 14 February 2008 - View Full Newsletter

Hi Everyone,

As you know Shooting Matters was never going to be just a forum, we started with the club website, directory & forum.

The next area we are moving into is a for want of a better description is a "community newspaper" called Shooting Matters Daily.

This community newspaper has been created to enable people to show that shooting in the United Kingdom is a safe sport. The site allow people from all of the different disciplines to share their experiences with other shooters and the non shooting public.

Anyone who shoots can contribute regardless of the discipline they enjoy, I would like to encourage skirmishers, target shooters, rough shooters and any other shooter to contribute.

This site is in a beta state at the moment with the settings subject to change but please get your log-in, post your story and lets show that shooting is a safe and inclusive sport.

If you could post a few stories about the shooting you do, include some photos and we will see how the software holds up, if it does well we can announce it a little further afield. All stories will be going through an approvals process and because we have day jobs as well the approval's may be done in the evenings.

It can be found at http://daily.shootingmatters.com.

Enjoy and any comments will be welcome.

Ian
